Testament - SOLD
This is an art installation honoring the second anniversary of the deadly flood in Wimberley, TX and the surrounding hill country two years ago. The gallery accepted the donation of this mud caked furniture and held it for two years with the intention to use it somehow to honor the victims and benefit those impacted by the tragedy. It has been very moving to see "Testament" come to fruition. "For me," (owner/curator artist Linda Haddock), "the purity represented by the color white along with the empty chairs and table have deep meaning. The hands on the antique clock are set for 11:40 pm, the approximate time that the home carrying nine of the victims down the river had impact with the bridge."
Once the exhibit is over it becomes functional art ready for a room or porch. Currently it is a blank canvas ready for your personal touch of color, cushions, etc. Linda can totally see antique white linen cushions on the couch and chairs!
Please share as we would like to spread the word and raise as much money as possible to help in the continuing recovery efforts of the environment, devastating damage to homes, and still missing victims.
The silent auction took place in 2017. Many thanks to the successful bidders whose proceeds benefited Wimberley Valley residents.
