#freethebreast

Coming back to make more trouble, The Breast Show II returns in August 2021.  In a society and culture where a breastfeeding mother in public is often met with disdain, the goals of the show remain the same: normalize the female breast and promote breastfeeding. The exhibition will be held in August in conjunction with National Breast Feeding Month, World Breastfeeding Week, and Black Breastfeeding Week.

We believe that our exhibition in 2018 had a trickle down effect of helping to close gender gaps and promote equality.  We were encouraged to learn that since the announcement of the first show, the last few holdout states have come on board by changing their laws to permit breastfeeding in public.
Echo Gallery in Johnson City, Texas, invites artists of all visual media residing in the United States to enter its juried art exhibition:

The Breast Show II

The art exhibition is open to all visual mediums and aesthetic directions.  A percentage of the proceeds are going to the La Leche League  and other organizations that promote breastfeeding.  Elyse Gonzales will serve as the juror for this art exhibition. She is currently Director of the contemporary art center Ruby City in San Antonio, having formerly served as he Acting Director of the Art, Design and Architecture (AD&A) Museum at the University of California in Santa Barbara, where she curated many exhibitions.
